September 22, 2008 - Morris Farms

Morris Farm was the host for September’s One on One with Mayor Avedisian. Founded in 1915, Morris Farm consists of a forty-three acre working farm that has been in the family for three generations. Talk about sustainability and creating a sense of place, the Morris family has always been ahead of its time. By offering up locally grown products, they have contributed to a sense of pride in the community. Morris Farm also has a number of great activities for children and adults.
School tours are available for children to learn what a day on the farm consists of, including how to maintain a farm, care for livestock and a tour of the farm on tractor. In the fall, take a hay ride, puzzle your way through the corn maze or participate in a scavenger hunt. For Christmas, attend a workshop and learn how to make boxwood wreaths, trees, ornaments and a centerpiece for the holidays. And don’t forget the children’s birthday party’s you can book where each child gets to ride a pony, feed the cows and go on a hayride. Morris Farm has something to offer everyone at any age. Located at 2779 Warwick Avenue, and is open Monday through Sunday 9:00-6:00. Please call 401-738-1036 for more information.
