December 11, 2007 - Gregg's Resaurant

In December Mayor Scott Avedisian and the Department of Tourism, Culture and Development extended their "One on One" Business Program with a visit to the original Gregg's Restaurant, located at 1359 Post Road in Warwick.
Ever since opening its doors in 1972, Gregg's has been dedicated to offering a comfortable, home-style dining experience at affordable prices. This simple concept has served the Gregg's owners well: Each of the four locations -- Warwick (1972), East Providence (1979), Providence (1985), and North Kingstown (1993) -- now proudly serves between 8,000 and 10,000 customers per week. Perhaps the greatest attraction is Gregg's famous desserts, which customers purchase in mass quantities during the holiday season.

During the visit, Ted Fuller -- owner of Gregg's and employer of over 200 people in the Warwick area -- gave the Mayor a tour of the facility, introduced him to the staff members, and offered an insider's perspective on why Gregg's continues to be a Rhode Island tradition. The Mayor returned the favor, and demonstrated his considerable will power, when he assisted in packaging a variety of mouth-watering cakes.
