On February, 3, 2009, Mayor Avedisian visited Concordia Medical located at 60 Commerce Drive in Warwick, RI for the One on One initiative. Randal Spencer, President and CEO of Concordia, along with Debra Masso, Manager of Medical Operations, presented a fascinating tour of the facility as well as the inspirational history of how Concordia reinvented itself from the textile industry to a leading manufacturer in the biomedical field. Just as impressive, is the fact that they retained and retrained their employees throughout the process. The average longevity of a Concordia employee is 15 to 20 years. While on tour Mayor Avedisian learned about Concordia’s BIOFELT ® Discs and Tubs, Knitted Meshes, Braided Structures and Fibers and Polymeric Biomaterials.
